Wing Chun is a Chinese self-defence system, which is said to have been created by a woman more than 300 years ago. The system’s fundamental principles are economy of movement, efficiency, and technique over strength. The system is focused around the centrelines, diagonal lines and angles. The theory behind the basic elements includes: balance, timing, control and simultaneity in defence and attacks.
There are different lineages of Wing Chun depending on the interpretation of the system. We follow Grandmaster Wan Kam Leung who modified and improved the system so it has become more practically applicable, hence the name Practical Wing Chun.
Sifu WAN Kam Leung was the earliest student of the late Sifu WONG Shun Leung and has been a senior instructor in Ving Tsun Athletic Association for years. Sifu WAN was the only Wing Chun Chief Instructor for the G4 (VIP Protection Unit) ever invited by the Royal Hong Kong Police Force.
Sifu Wan Kam Leung has precisely modified the Wing Chun system into a modern day practical combating art suitable for males and females of all ages. Wan Kam Leung Practical Wing Chun, the effective way to increase strength, self confidence and all round positive health development.
